The army is building its strength, preparing to fight them, though they don't really know what they're up against. Zara and the others with whom she trains are sent to guard the Sterlings, three very valuable and unusual animals, in the Topaz Pyramids. They don't realize how valuable the animals are until the Sevenites attack.
When you're 16 years old and longing for an adventure, you can read about one. Sometimes you become envious of the characters about whom you read but because you are only 16 years old, there is not much you can do to experience your own adventure.
And so, you write a book about adventure. And soon, the characters whom you have created become your friends and you care about them and what happens to them. They drive you to write about them and so their adventure--your adventure--continues as it becomes more and more alive in your head and through your hands to pen and paper.
Carla Chidiac has an extraordinary imagination. Even more, she has the extraordinary ability to put what she imagines down on paper to share with others. This first book of a projected series is the result.
